Current Duty: Currently in route to rendezvous with the HMS Enterprise to restore ship's systems damaged by static electricity after an unfortunate infestation of Electribbles.
The NEWCOMB is a former Ambassador class ship retro-fitted to fill a need for technical requirements of Æther Fleet. It is equipped with the latest technical systems for performing upgrades, backups, and restorations of all Æther Fleet systems. It is also equipped with ÆWACS (Æthernet Warning and Control System) to serve as an adhoc command communications relay in the event of conflict battles or natural disasters where normal communications are unavailable or inoperable.
It is deployed to locations as needed to support the UKP and Royal Æther Fleet's Interstellar Network (RÆF-INET). It's crew is mostly engineers and technicians which are skilled in the deployment, maintenance, upkeep, and repair of all manner of Mechanology. This includes everything from weapons and propulsion systems to critical computer data systems. Everthing from Æthermetric to Visograph. They can even help you troubleshoot your Æ-mail.
