Firemen / Stokers
Ship's Fireman, or Stokers, work in the most hazardous sections of the ship. Hazards encountered run from burns and toxic skin exposure, to resperatory distress caused by continuos dylithium dust in the air. Occaisionally inexperienced Stokers may trigger a 'Coal Avalanche' if they are not mindful when digging into the stock piles. Avalanches can easily pin a Stoker down and injur them, if not completley bury them.
Uniform: A very heavy heat resistant smock with elbow length gloves, pants and boots made from the same material. Full head masks are required with resperators to filter the breathable air. Additionally the uniforms have ports to attach hoses which circulate cooler air within the uniform. With out these protections, no man would be able to maintain their consciousness for more than several minutes and once down, would not live much longer.
