Physical description: Maxby is dark haired with incursions of gray
throughout. His close cropped hair and beard adhere to the stricter standards
of lower ranking officers. His square face and solid frame demonstrate a
history of physical activity, which is just now softening with age and rank.
Maxby's eyes portray only a semblance of the dynamic processes working behind
them. The Commodore's voice is distinctive and authoritative but revealing of
his underlying passions. Maxby is always dresses appropriately with little or
no embellishments allowed a commander of his rank.
Psychological profile: Maxby considers himself a realist in that he
works with what fate has dealt to him. He has no lofty utopian ideals but works
to make that which he can effect better. Maxby is unerringly loyal to Queen and
country but has been known to bend and or break regulations to achieve his
ends. Maxby's command style is very familiar for a man in his position. He
subscribes to a team based approach forsaking the more structured chain of
command model recommended by Ætherfleet Command. The Commodore is know for
employing unorthodox solutions to problems that seem to him to be quite
logically sound but to others seem ludicrous. (ref. Crippling XO with hand

achieved through a combination of exemplary work, success in difficult
situations and a broad scope of experience.
Service record: Enlisted in Royal Æther Navy upon announcement of War
with Klinkon rebels on Mars 1976. Commissioned as a Lt. due to college degrees.
Served as helmsman on the HMAS Phalanx, which was destroyed in the second
engagement at the Hornsby station. Reassigned to the HMAS Vengeance as
temporary armory officer. After the Klinkon truce Lt. Commander Maxby was
assigned as First Mate on her majesties Man-o-War class PDB "Thrusher"
performing pirate suppression in and around Saturn. Maxby was reassigned to the
HMAS Intrepid during the Romlian War and was awarded his own command after the
destruction of the Romlian warship "Yar Alla" He served as Captain of the HMAS
Resolve with great distinction for 12 years until the Resolve was
decommissioned. At this point he was promoted to Commodore. Working in fleet
operations for the past 3 years at Ætherfleet Command he has developed close
relations with most of the individual Ship commanders in the fleet.
