Romlians

The Romlians are a Human Vulkan hybrid that had it's beginning over 200 years earlier. It all started when a group of independently minded Vulkan women left Mercury. It seems that they had become fed up with the inconvenience of the Pon-Far mating cycle. They sought to build a community free from the aggravation of supporting their males seven week mating regime.

Once the Vulkan women established a settlement they found peace and contentment until they started to act strangely. It seems that prolonged periods of chastity also affect the female Vulkans. Once fighting had broken out their only means of transport back to Mercury was destroyed. Years of barbarity and cloning set the stage for the arrival of Russian aristocracy trying to escape pressures on Earth.

The introduction of over 200 virile males into the situation changed the whole scheme of things entirely. After a two year period of unfettered mating a new race began to evolve. The Romlians retained their mothers pent up aggressiveness along with their cold and catty disposition. From their Fathers they received their resolve, strength and cunning. These qualities along with a maniacal superiority complex and a good helping of arrogance defines the Romlian people today.

From first contact with humans the Romlians harbored a cold loathing hatred for what they perceived as their competition. War ensued between the two factions until a treaty was signed. The treaty established a zone extending for half the orbital ring of Neptune. Around their cold planet the Romlians brood and plot the downfall of human kind.
