The sickbay is located in the center of the main section, which is the most protected area of the ship. There are four primary sections of sickbay. The first is the Infirmary. The infirmary is the place where crewmen go to receive physicals or superficial treatments. The infirmary has several examination tables and many instruments for treating common ailments and injuries. Just off the Infirmary is the medical ward. This room has several beds for patients recovering from more serious conditions. The ward has monitoring equipment and interfaces with the ships libraries for the patient's leisure reading.
The medical ward can be expanded and reconfigured to accommodate large numbers of patients. The surgical theatre is a round room containing every sort of medical contraption known to mankind. The instruments are either mounted on the wall or depending from the ceiling so that they are all readily available during a difficult surgery. A operating table with sensors and displays lies in the center of it all. The last section of the sick bay is restricted to medical personnel only. In this section resides the pharmacopial fabricator, the medical transporter and the physicians conference room and research lab.
