Martians
The Martian civilization is one of the oldest in the solar system. In their
golden era the Martians practiced technologies that would make even the most
sophisticated Ætherships pale in comparison. In that time Mars was a garden
bedecked with the jewels of Martian civilization. Since then Mars has
degenerated into a backward backwater using medieval technology. The once
fertile planes of Mars, now lie lifeless and sterile buried in trackless desert
sands. The Martians used to wander the wastelands of cluster together in the
few remaining cities and wait for their demise. That was until the humans
started to arrive in the last 100 years. Contact with humans has reinvigorated
the Martian culture and injected new hope into their society. The current king
of Mars now sits on the council of the United Kingdom of Planets and is a
strong ally of the Queen. British industry and enterprises can be found popping
up in every corner of the Martian globe. Mars is now the new jewel in Britain's
crown. |
